Lake Superior Provincial Park

I live in Ontario, but it’s not very often I visit Northern Ontario. Lake Superior Provincial Park on the eastern shore the lake, north of Sault Ste. Marie, is one of the most beautiful Ontario Provincial Parks I’ve been to. Around this area is where the boreal forest really starts to grow, and you can notice it as you drive over Canadian shield mountains.

My husband and I camped in the park during 2013 on our way to Ontario from living in the Yukon (Happy Trails YUKON Blog). We car camped in the Agawa Bay campground. This is a very large park, and worth going back to. I’d love to do some backcountry camping when I’m back in the area.

The park has a fantastic Visitor Centre and a coastal hiking trail that is many kilometres long. You can connect to other hiking trails in the area from Agawa Bay as well.
